SanteQ Lightweight Walling
SanteQ – the new lightweight, sustainable walling system
This alternative building technology offers excellent lightweight, acoustic, thermal and fire-resistant properties, with convenient installation. Weighing less than 30% of conventional masonry walling, this solid cementitious system utilizes recycled materials and significantly cuts down building time. For detailed information, visit our SanteQ website at www.santeqglobal.com.
- Lightweight – less than 30% of brick and mortar
- Better sound insulation – rated very good
- Fire-resistance – 2 hours on each component
- Excellent thermal insulation – 10x better R-value than conventional brick
- Low environmental impact
- Reduced construction times

Installation
The patented modular cellulose-fibre walling system is erected on site, services installed and our lightweight, preblended cementitious, 100% recycled polystyrene and admixture composite infill is pumped into the void. The wall can then be skim plastered and painted or simply painted. The result is a lightweight yet solid wall offering significantly improved thermal and acoustic properties that can withstand a fire for up to 2 hours.
Applications
The SanteQ lightweight walling system is typically used for non-load bearing walls in hotels, student accommodation, multi-storey affordable housing developments, schools, hospitals, remodelling of existing multi-storey buildings, as well as new builds with lightweight and energy saving considerations.
Features and benefits
Together with the prefabricated cellulose-fibre formwork and the high impact, moulded inserts that make up the entire system, the cured weight is between 550 and 600kg per m3 including skim plaster and paint. This represents a weight reduction of more than 70% when compared to traditional masonry materials, offering distinct design and engineering benefits.
We use non-flammable boards and all components are tested to withstand fire for 2 hours. The system does not give off toxic gases.
The infill material is comprised of recycled polystyrene which acts as insulation that reduces heat transfer through the walls. When one considers that 25% of the energy loss is through the walls, the savings on heating and cooling are obvious.
Due to the air trapped in the lightweight infill, the SanteQ walling system offers 2 to 3 times the sound insulation of a traditional wall.
Sustainable
The SanteQ lightweight walling system has amongst the lowest carbon footprints of any construction system. The polystyrene used in the infill as well as the high impact moulded inserts are 100% recycled. The cellulose fibre boards are only produced from the pulp of farmed trees and have been certified by the Singapore Green Building Council. The infill bags are reuseable.
Simple Construction
The SanteQ lightweight walling system is assembled and erected quickly and cleanly on site with minimal waste on prefabricated orders. Services are installed, the infill is pumped into place and the joints skimmed. Due to its uncomplicated design, the wall is assured of being plumb and the build quality is consistent. Programme timing and budgets are predictable and construction times are reduced. SanteQ lightweight walls pass the “knock test”.

Wall finishing
The surface of the board can be covered by ceramic tile, wallpaper, wood panels and other materials.
The People
The SanteQ lightweight walling system is a joint venture between Sanjo Fabtech Sterling (specialists in custom-manufactured modular walling systems) and CemteQ Building Solutions, producers of smart, sustainable cementitious building materials.
